Two frequently asked questions that I often get from my brides are, “What is a bridal session?” and “Should I schedule one?” Listen up brides! Nearly 85% of my brides are booking bridal sessions – ever wondered why? Here are 3 reasons to book a bridal session:
First things first,
What is a bridal session?
To make it plain and simple, a bridal session is basically a session all about the bride. This can take place before the wedding (which is great for a full-glam trial run before your big day), or it can take place after the day of your wedding (Hello, new trend. Ask me more about day-after sessions)!
From a photographer’s perspective, it is totally necessary to schedule a bridal session. When it comes to your wedding, you want to capture as many moments and memories as you possibly can.
The day you book your bridal session can also be the day that you are doing your hair and makeup trial run. This gives you time to try out your full-glam look from head to toe and make any necessary adjustments before your actual wedding date! This is the time to book your hair and makeup trial, order a test bouquet, try out your spray tan, and feel like a total bride!
Enjoying the Session
Photos from your day are one of the most important aspects of your wedding. After photographing dozens and dozens of weddings, I have learned that as much as couples want amazing pictures they are also eager to get to them over with so that they can fully enjoy their special day. Booking a bridal session lifts that feeling of urgency, and allows you to relax a little more on your actual wedding day knowing we already got plenty of gorgeous photos of just you.
One of my favorite things to do during a bridal session is to photograph the bride during sunset at the venue if it’s permitted. Not only will you look like a glowing goddess, but this is a way to test-run locations for the actual wedding day. This gives the bride peace-of-mind knowing where the photos on the big day will be taken.
Many brides traditionally incorporate their bridal photos into their wedding decor, such as on a welcome table or dessert table! Bridal sessions are available in two of my wedding collections, or you can add a bridal session a la carte to any package of your choice!
I hope these 3 reasons to book a bridal session gave you a little more insight into what a session is and how it’ll make your wedding day memories that much better!
